Netlify — Deploy, Build & Scale Websites From Git
Netlify
GIT-BASED DEPLOYMENT PLATFORM

Push to Git. Netlify handles the build, the CDN, and the deploy.

Connect a repository and every push gets built, tested, and shipped to a global CDN automatically — with a unique preview URL for every branch and pull request.

GETTING STARTED

From repository to live site in a few clicks

1

Connect your repo

Link a GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket repository to your Netlify account.

2

Set your build settings

Netlify detects most frameworks automatically, or you can configure a custom build command.

3

Deploy

Your first build runs immediately, with a live URL as soon as it finishes.

4

Push to update

Every future commit triggers a new build and deploy automatically.

“Every pull request gets its own preview link now, so reviewing a design change doesn’t mean pulling the branch locally anymore.”

FAQ

Common questions about Netlify

Answers to what people typically ask before signing up.

What exactly are “credits”?
Credits are Netlify’s single usage unit, spent across production deploys, compute time, bandwidth, web requests, and AI inference. Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance, and usage beyond that is billed at published overage rates or, on paid plans, drawn from optional auto-recharge.
What happens if I run out of credits on the Free plan?
The Free plan has a hard monthly cap — once you use your included credits, sites on that account pause until the next billing cycle unless you upgrade to a paid plan.
Do I need a paid plan to use a custom domain?
No — custom domains and free SSL certificates are available on the Free plan, as long as your usage stays within the included credit allowance.
Is there a limit on team members?
The Pro plan includes unlimited team member seats at no extra per-seat cost, a change Netlify made in 2026 after previously charging per seat. Free and Personal plans are intended for individual use.
Can I use my own backend or database with Netlify?
Yes. Netlify is commonly paired with external databases and APIs, and its serverless and edge functions can call out to those services — it isn’t limited to purely static sites.
What frameworks does Netlify support?
Netlify supports most popular static site generators and frontend frameworks out of the box, typically detecting your build settings automatically when you connect a repository, with the option to override them manually.
Can I move from a Legacy plan to a Credit-based plan?
Accounts created before Netlify’s September 2025 pricing change are on Legacy plans by default and are not required to switch, but do have the option to move to the newer credit-based plans if they prefer.
